SCRCC CHAIR GIVES TRADEMARK ENDORSEMENT FOR IOWA HO– USE SEAT

As vigorous and motivational as current Scott County Republican Central Committee (SCRCC) chairperson usually musters.

Actually, it was not so much an “endorsement” as public notice of an election. To follow this with a paragraph in the QC Times want-ads would apparently satisfy what passes for fulfillment of the duty of the GOP’s ‘official voice’ of the Scott County.

No discussion of candidate Mike Gonzales background and qualifications (let the ‘conservative’ QC Times do that) or of the importance of filling another seat in the House with a solid conservative Republican (pause here to allow the SCRCC to scratch its bureaucratic head and ask why?).

No sign of any effort to build support. Just an obligatory notice that there’s some voting sites and precincts eligible to vote.

No doubt an oversight, but we’re sure the “party’s leadership” intended to mention that eligible Republican voters ought to stop by and vote, if they get a chance.

Candidate Gonzalez has gotta feel good about such full-throated support of the party!

Remarkably,  the effusiveness, the rationale, is as good as any candidate received who was on a Scott County ballot in November. No wonder Scott County was in the bottom ten percent in our presidential performance ranking among counties in the state.

Hello all

Last week we nominated Mike Gonzales to run for the open Iowa House seat in District 89. That election is January 31 and the precincts that are eligible to vote are: D11,D12,D22,D23,D24,D42,D43,D71,D72 and D82. Mike is a police officer in LeClaire and we are proud to support him in this race. Please contact Mike at 563-529-3320 or [email protected] if you can help. This is a very quick turn around time for this election and he would appreciate any help you can provide.

If you would like to vote by mail, you can now request an absentee ballot request form by calling us at 563-823-5854 or calling the Auditor’s office at 563-326-8631. In order to receive your ballot my mail, your absentee ballot request form must have been received at the Auditor’s office no later than Friday, January 27 at 5 pm.

You can also vote early in person at the Auditor’s office as soon as the ballots are ready, which they hope will either be this Friday 1/20 or Monday, 1/23. You can vote early in person at the Auditor’s office through Monday, January 30.

A fine little administrative notice. Nothing about Republican legislative goals that Mike will help with.  Nothing about how the Democrat platform is so bad.  Nothing about the opportunities presented in a special election. No reason to vote given.  Hopefully something genuinely motivational will be forthcoming from SCRCC, unlike in the general election.
