BULLETIN TO NATION — Trump says very bad things

HILLARY CLINTON ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED BY REPORT OF LEWD CONVERSATION

. . .  says anyone who talks or behaves that way should never be President, policy does not matter.

Reaction to the video in which Donald Trump, unaware he is being recorded in a conversation with a TV show host 11 years ago, says raunchy things about his “techniques” in pursuing women. Reaction has been swift and harsh. Below are some reactions as reported by Veritaspac’s field correspondents:

-Overhead in a Starbuck’s in Beverly Hills: “Shocked! I tell you, shocked!”, cried a young businesswoman, so emotionally distraught she spilled her entire cup of latte drenching the pages of her latest iteration of “50 Shades of Gray”.

– Bill Cosby, commenting on the Trump comments and the counterattacks concerning Bill Clinton’s sexual escapades and his wife’s defense of all: “If I’d married Hillary, I coulda been president, and, ‘Oh Boy…!”

– “We cannot have such a man for President; he has no respect for women and is no more than a sex-crazed adolescent”, said Hillary Clinton in a prepared statement.

– Michele Obama: “We need to have a national conversation about white male sex obsession”

– Anthony Weiner: “We need to have a national conversation about p—y”

– The LGBT movement released a statement condemning the “absolute depravity of Donald Trump, revealing that he continues to maintain supposedly ‘separate but equal’ restrooms at his Mar-a-Lago resort…”

– Four prominent NBA players roundly condemned the GOP presidential candidate, with one perennial all-star saying that he found Trump’s comments demeaning and ‘incredibly disrespectful toward women, noting that “I have never used such vile language toward any of my baby mommas no matter what they said about me not payin’ to raise their brats…”

– Colin Kaepernick: ” I never been much with words…who is Donald Trump?”

– Paul Ryan: “I will pray devoutly for Mr. Trump’s redemption and hope that he will see the wisdom of open borders and the futility of opposing President Obama…”

Meanwhile, the Associated Press also noted that Hurricane Climate Change, er, Mathew, continues to pound the east coast, the economy continues a strong recovery, and there’s some stuff about a Hillary speech has been allegedly reported and…

    Really now.

Trump’s comments from 11 years ago are indeed vile, childish, insulting, and yes, indefensible. How sorry he might be for having made them cannot be known. We can be sure that he sincerely regrets having had them recorded.

But as to the impact this “revelation” should have on the presidential race, and I emphasize “should”, probably a sober, reasoned answer is ‘little or none”. The American people , especially those Hillary supporters, must face the reality that a “standard” for presidents to behave toward women has been set for nearly 20 years now. And Donald Trump’s comments, and even if his true attitudes are as reflected in the video toward women, do not descend to the depths that that standard reaches.

In a nutshell, as vile and despicable as Trump’s words were, Bill Clinton’s actions toward women and proven behavior toward them were far worse, and some of the most repellant occurred while he occupied the White House. And his wife defended them all and, perhaps worse yet, led the most contemptible attacks on any women who came forward to attest to her husband’s incredibly ugly actions.

I would add, hypocrisy, thy name is “Bush”. Jeb Bush has ‘tweeted’ that Trump’s comments are “reprehensible”. He is undoubtedly shocked and saddened (and secretly delighted) and outraged. In his usual sanctimony, Jeb will probably disclose that he prays for the soul of his one time political rival. And the Bush family? Undoubtedly they are all shocked and outraged beyond belief. And yet,the man they’ve claimed as the “adopted son” of Bush 41 and the “adopted brother” of Bush 43 is the same man who set the presidential standard for sexual (mis)behavior and attitude toward women. “Reprehensible” behavior didn’t seem to bother the family before this. (And now we learn that Billy Bush is a cousin of Jeb. As the other participant in the now infamous interview recording, Billy is not heard to recoil from nor reproach Mr. Trump for his “reprehensible” remarks.)

I’m not surprised by this reaction to the described “locker room” comments. The people who are so “shocked” probably never were exposed to the adrenaline rush one has after a tough game won or lose. Words are just flowing with no real thought to vent either frustration or joy. I’ve been exposed many times to not only this kind of rederoic but also overhearing the same or worse conversation amongst a table of women talking over lunch. These conversations or expressions are and always will be a part of life. Like it or not. Just don’t wear a mike. The people who are now displaying disbelief and questioning the morals or credentials of Mr. Trump are political pundits or hacks looking either to take him down or support their own political ambitions. It’s interesting to me that Donald is being targeted for his language ,which although unsavory , didn’t hurt anyone, while Hillary and Bills past actions destroyed lives. Many lives. Where is the public outrage over her comments in defending this predator and spreading nothing but lies about his victims. To me, this is a much bigger story. A story pretty much untold.

Just a note to the Hillary supporting LGBT:
In 2005 when Donald Trump was uttering such shocking words, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were actively opposing gay marriage! For a few votes and lots of cash, some people can change.
