Beltway Republicans Are Terrible, But People Listen to Them

I’m sure most of you are all caught up to speed by now about the recent Romney video that was obtained by the help of Jimmy Carter’s grandson and has been released by the hard hitting Progressive blog “Mother Jones.”   Well in case you actually had a life these last few days and missed it the hidden camera video shows Romney talking to a group of successful  investors at a private fundraiser back in May.  In the video he talks in political terms about the roughly 47% who will never vote for him because most of them pay no taxes or are just out for more and more government programs or goodies.

Most people on the right are happy that Romney was so candid in his correct remarks about the political leanings of the dependent class, and feel he should continue to expound his message about lowering the size of it, which he did again for the second day in a row during an interview this afternoon.

But what was really just a statement of the political obvious, has now been “legitimized” as an insult to unfortunate Americans. The concept was given legs, by the New York Times version of a great conservative, David Brooks, who says Romney “doesn’t know much about the culture of America” and is running a “depressingly inept presidential campaign.”

Not to be outdone was the ” great conservative,”  Weekly Standard Editor and Fox News Commentator, Bill Krystal who called Romney’s comments “stupid and arrogant.”

I was also just reading that “conservative” Ronald Reagan fan-girl, author and commentator Peggy Noonan has an article with the same tone coming out tomorrow.

You are probably asking why we should be concerned about these pathetic beltway “Conservatives”  who most of us do not look to for guidance anyway.  The answer:  these three have weekly opinion articles that run in hundreds of major and minor newspapers around the country, they are guests on all the talk show circuits, and always billed as the token “Conservative”  . . . and the left often selects their commentaries and piggybacks off almost everything critical they say.

So while most of us know that Brooks, Krystal and Noonan can give even RINO’s a bad name, the majority don’t.  And their perception can become political reality, especially when it’s being amplified by players on the other team.  So let’s hope that the continued  “McCaining” of Romney by these favorites of liberals, people supposedly on our side, stops very soon.                                          Romentum

And we haven’t even heard yet from that arch conservative, Kathleen Parker!

Re: the cartoon: “…collect welfare, and get section 8 housing and food stamps.” And, “if you call within the next 15 minutes, we’ll throw in a free cell phone and 250 free minutes per month. Operators are standing by”.

I was listening to Limbaugh earlier today in the car and he made a great point. These beltway Conservatives have been pushing Romney for almost 2 years and billing him as the only one who can beat Obama.

Fast forward to today and they are throwing him Mitt under the bus, and who is there standing with him? People like us who supported Perry, Newt and Santorum as our first choices but have eventually gravitated toward Romney.

Our friend John Ziegler brings up something that I and apparently everybody else has forgotten…..Peggy Noonan endorsed Obama in 2008!
