From Tea Party Patriots:

Traitorous Republicans protecting ObamaCare

Roger-

When we stood outside of the US Capitol in 2010, the night that ObamaCare passed, we knew that it was going to take a monumental effort to repeal this new entitlement. What we weren’t expecting was that when Republicans finally controlled the House, the Senate, and the White House that we would have to fight traitorous Republicans attempting to block ObamaCare repeal.

Sadly, that’s exactly what is happening right now!

Senators Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Rob Portman (R-OH), and Shelley Moore-Capito (R-WV) have all said they will not vote for the stand-alone ObamaCare repeal bill. This is the same exact bill that they voted for in 2015!

According to The Hill newspaper, “the 2015 measure would gut ObamaCare by repealing authority for the federal government to run healthcare exchanges and scrapping subsidies to help people afford plans bought through those exchanges. It would zero out the penalties on individuals who do not buy insurance and employers who do not offer health insurance.”

However, we must note that the 2015 bill will not repeal all of Title I of ObamaCare, and we would still need to work to repeal that. But this is likely the closest thing to full repeal we’ll be able to get right now, and these traitorous already voted for the legislation in 2015 – so they have no excuse not to vote for it this time.

And remember, these Senators, their staffs, AND their families have a special exemption from ObamaCare that none of the rest of us enjoy!

If this angers you as much as it angers me, you must take action today. The best thing you can do is call. Call your own Republican Senator(s) if you have them. Call these traitorous Republicans. Call Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. And finally call the White House.

Tell the Senators that you are fed up with their games that they must repeal ObamaCare and nothing less – this is a promise they must keep or they will surely lose their majority and any faith the American people have left in them. Tell them that you are going to call the White House and ask President Trump to direct the Office of Personnel Management to rescind Congress’ special exemption from ObamaCare. Then call the White House and tell President Trump to finally have OPM rescind this ridiculous special exemption so that can Congress will finally be as motivated as everyday Americans are to repeal this terrible law. The more we have gotten to know this law, and the more we have been forced to live under these onerous regulations, the more we have wanted full repeal. Our bet is that these Senators would be a lot more eager to repeal ObamaCare if they had the kind of first-hand knowledge we have with it.

I know you probably never thought you’d have to pick up the phone and call Congress like we did before the Republicans were in charge, but the most effective thing you can do right now is call, call, call, call. Melt the phone lines. Remind them who sent them there and what we expect of them.

Our window of opportunity to actually repeal ObamaCare is closing and we must take action now to force these Republicans to keep their promise to us – the American people.

Thank you for all you do to preserve freedom for us and for our future generations.

In liberty,

Tea Party Patriots chairman makes important points.  Some references relevant to the congressional exemption a.k.a. scam-on-America include these as published in The Hill and Forbes:

Trump should end congressional exemption from ObamaCare

Congress Is Getting A Special Exemption From ObamaCare–And No, It’s Not Legal

Just wrong: Congress quietly takes ObamaCare waiver

We would emphasize or add to her points that the latest leadership proposal is to repeal Obamacare  but that the repeal is set to take effect in two years, so no specific replacement is part of it but plenty of time to formulate one is. To vote in support is consistent with promises made.  The grand standing “I won’t repeal without a replacement that does such and such” is political BS intended to inculcate Obamacare by some lying Senators/ RINOs who previously said they opposed Obamacare. Given they have up to two years to protect and even build in what they think is important as Obamacare stammers along, they are charlatans.

All Republican Senators have a lot at stake in this, that promises made be promises kept. Senators Grassley and Ernst are generally dependable, they should be given support but they need to take off the gloves with their fellow senators. These three prevaricating Republicans doing Democrat Schumer’s bidding need to be called out. They are destroying Republican chances of retaining majority control of congress by obliterating any confidence in promises made. They should be made very aware that the Republican Senatorial Committee owes them nothing and will support primary challenges. Certainly that their obstinance and phoniness will not be rewarded.

One Response to “Phoning it in” to the Republican phonies

  1. DLH says:

Not too long ago, a leftist pundit, Thomas Frank, wrote a book, “What’s Wrong With Kansas?”. His answer was, not enough progressivism.
As a current resident of that state, I can attest that a lack of good solid progressivism of the Kathleen Sebelius (former Kansas governor until Barack Obama recognized her talent for exploiting her lack of talent and her rapturous embrace of all things Obama) variety is NOT what is wrong with Kansas. What IS wrong are politicians like Republican Senator Jerry Moron, I’m sorry. I mean MorAn.
Senator Jerry is the very archetype of the sniveling, phony, shallow, arrogant politician (see “Susan Collins”).
Just another lengthening line of Republican “conservatives” who talked really tough when they knew they could not be held accountable…’who me? Blame Obama and the Dems.’
“Jerry” has never been nationally recognized for anything notable he has done as a US Senator. Suddenly he’s a talk show guest of great acclaim. After all, he did defy Trump and the voters who put him in office, too recently.
“Obamacare? It’s not as bad as I thought”, seems to be “Jerry’s” latest position.
Come on Jerry. You believe you have a safe seat for a few years, and after all, who’s your base going to vote for anyway.?
And you’ve won the fickle love of the Kansas City Star…until there’s a progressive Dem to run against you.
Who’s going to want to save you then, Jerry?
