A-Bannon all hope, ye who expect neutrality from liberal dominant media

This was the breathless first story that AOL subscribers were greeted with this morning. It was about Steve Bannon, next to Trump himself, the liberal press’ favorite bête noire, and all the more reason to tone the picture the way they did.

It was leading in more ways than one. The choice of the word “removed ” was clearly intended to imply Bannon was the object of an outside directive perhaps for cause of some sort.

Drudge got into the act as well,

Steve Bannon removed from National Security Council in shakeup

A big shake-up doncha know at a glance. But if you read the article you find (bold our emphasis):

Bannon originally served on the committee as a check against Michael Flynn before Flynn was ousted as National Security Advisor, a top White House official told NBC News. However, Bannon only attended one meeting and felt he was no longer needed in that role after the selection of H.R. McMaster as national security advisor.

So he probably had enough meetings to attend and internal dynamics did not lead him to bother with the position.  Situation well in hand.  Instead we get the directed choice of words: “removed” and  “shakeup.”  The usual suspects make his departure out to be scandal.

And speaking of the media looking stupid, check this out:

  1. DLH says:

The Wall Street Journal noted in its coverage of the Bannon story that the move has won the approval of former Obama administration figures: “today’s reorganization of the NSC is a welcome, if belated, first step–but it’s just a first step,” said Ned Price, a council spokesman during the Obama administration…”
So Trump has received his orders from the Obama corner…he’ll have to do a lot more to win the “Master’s” full approval.
