More important than what Trump says on his “Thank You” tour

And not in a good way . . .

EXXON SHIFTED ON CLIMATE CHANGE UNDER TILLERSON

“After Tillerson took over, the company backed a tax on carbon dioxide emissions, implemented an internal accounting measure to put a fee on carbon emissions and stopped funding many groups that outright reject the scientific consensus behind climate change, all major shifts away from its previous positions.”

Alarming, as reported! If completely accurate, Secretary of State-select Tillerson is NOT the guy we hoped would be an effective negotiator in upholding the principles Trump campaigned on!

On the other hand, one must consider the messenger of this ‘opposition research’…The Hill, ( not exactly the most “Trump friendly” news organization.

We can only hope, but against the background of Ivanka’s apparent endorsement of such worthies as ALGORE, there is going to be a strong “progressive” influence  very close to President Trump.

The first “hundred days” will tell us a lot. Pray, America, pray!

Addenda:  Michael Swartz writing at Patriot Post  Tillerson at State: More Questions Than Answers  voices concerns as well, and points out some endorsements.  He reports what some have posited about the supposed “upside” to Tillerson. Basically that Putin is presumed to trust Tillerson and accordingly a good relationship with Russia is a strategic benefit vis a vi China.

Except 1) we find personal coziness unessential to strategic bargain making 2) as Swartz suggests, the endorsers are not that comforting  3) others can be as diplomatic as needed and 4) didn’t Trump just nominate someone  ~~ cozy~~ with China?  Where is the bad cop of the good cop / bad cop approach?  Tillerson has mostly negatives for Trumps admiring conservative base, politically it is bad optics given his history.  He is not a necessary choice.
