Just another Friday news dump; Have a nice weekend

images-20So what better day to disseminate all the “good news” to make your weekend…or, if you are like maybe three-fourths of the “folks”, it’s an even better day for the media and the left to bury the news that would inform you . . . can’t have that.

Highlights (more information follows):

  • Ben Carson may have, in the same day, scored a victory in his battles with the biased media and ended his quest for the GOP nomination.
  • The wisdom of the Republican party’s support for a budget even Obama must have thought they weren’t stupid enough to give him, became disastrously apparent and it’s not even a week old
  • Obama’s tyrannical, one-man rule marches on; he will soon close Gitmo, bring the terrorists to US soil, and give the Castro boys a great big gift… Guantanamo, and the GOP and congress will look on in awe
  • Praise Allah, a young lad had a terrible accident in California; he accidentally stabbed some folks but there is no apparent motive; officials probably don’t think Faisal Mohammed meant to say he planned to behead anybody; he was just kiddin’. Peace be upon you.
  • And finally, we can all breathe easy now. Hillary’s emails really were just about her yoga classes, girl to girl stuff, and the like. Nothing about national security or Sec. of State stuff that everybody, including your next door neighbor didn’t already know. So assures than none other than Jimmy Clapper the Director of National Security whom everybody trusts. It was all a terrible mistake which could have derailed the candidacy of probably the best president we’ll ever have. That’s an analysis by Steven Aftergood (no kidding, that’s his name) of the “Federation of American Scientists”??????? (What are you, a ‘science denier'”?).

BEN CARSON SUPPORTS TPP???  Ben, Did We Hardly Know Ye?

What’s Up with that, Doc? If true, afraid Ben is over. Maybe he should have talked to Senator Sessions first. Some expect by tomorrow morning, he’ll try to walk it back. Good luck with that.

What is especially sad about this is that Ben earlier in the day scored a smashing and humiliating victory over the hapless Democratic hacks at Politico for their amateurish and failed hit job.

Via Conservative Tree House:

Via Wall Street Journal ” Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said Friday that he supports the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement negotiated by the White House – aligning himself more with the GOP’s establishment wing than with the social conservatives who have powered his campaign.

“Mr. Carson’s backing of the 12-nation Pacific trade deal places him at odds with Donald Trump, his chief rival for support among anti-establishment Republicans. Mr. Carson had expressed skepticism about the TPP, saying in a June interview with the Huffington Post that he would not give President Barack Obama “fast-track” authority to negotiate the deal.

“Now, a day after the White House posted the text of the TPP deal online, Mr. Carson’s campaign said Friday that he supports the final product.

“Mr. Carson, spokesman Doug Watts said, “believes the agreement does help to level the playing field in key markets and is important to improve our ties to trading partners in Asia as a counterbalance to China’s influence in the region.” Mr. Watts said Mr. Carson is “now inclined to support TPP, with reservations.”

This is stunning, but did anybody notice?  (Investors Business Daily excerpts)

Lifting Debt Ceiling A Signal For Spending Spree To Begin

$18,532,338,091,711.00: That was the national debt late Thursday. The feds couldn’t wait to start bingeing once Congress lifted the debt ceiling and canceled spending caps. A week earlier, the debt stood at roughly $18.1 trillion. What happened?

Economist David Malpass of Encima Global was the first to alert us to the sudden surge in borrowing. On Tuesday, the national debt skyrocketed by $339.1 billion. In one day! It’s the most borrowing in one day for all of American history, according to USA Today.

It came just 24 hours after President Obama signed into law the suspension of the debt limit. No wonder Wall Street celebrated the budget-busting deal — $339 billion is a lot of money in fees for selling government bonds.

Obama will close Gitmo (give it back to his bff’s, the Castro boys) ; And the GOP and Congress will look on in awe

From J.D. Gordon writing at Fox News

“What irony. Despite violent jihad sweeping the planet, President Obama is busily preparing another push to close Guantanamo, perhaps even by executive action. So it’s the perfect time to discuss his little secrets:

“Secret #1: If and when detainees are moved stateside, judges could release them across America. That’s right, onto Main Street, USA.

“And how’s that? . . .

“Since about half the current 112 detainees are held in indefinite detention, activist judges would line up for jurisdiction. We’re talking about Bin Laden bodyguards, bomb-makers, weapons and explosives trainers, recruiters and would-be suicide bombers.

Al Qaeda defense lawyers have always pushed the line of “try them or release them.” Which makes sense for suspected bank robbers, but not for foreign enemy combatants during wartime.

“But even if one argues we’re not at war, the reality is we didn’t have battlefield detectives trailing jihadists in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Which means there isn’t enough admissible evidence to convict most detainees in court. Which means they’re not innocent, just not prosecutable. Each freed Gitmo man is a potential walking nightmare, nearly 1/3 are already confirmed or suspected of returning to terrorism.”

Campus stabber’s manifesto included ‘praise for Allah,’ plan for beheading

But nobody can figure out a motive; only know for sure it wasn’t terrorism and religion had nuthin’ to do with it.  (excerpts from Fox News story by Malia Zimmerman and Hollie McKay)

“A handwritten manifesto carried by a California college student whose stabbing spree Wednesday left four wounded bore names of his targets, a vow “to cut someone’s head off” and as many as five reminders to “praise Allah,” law enforcement authorities told FoxNews.com, while insisting that neither terrorism nor religion appear to be motives in the attack.    . . .

“No. 27 was to ‘make sure people are tied down,’ No. 28 was “sit down and praise Allah,’” Warnke said. “I remember seeing four or five times, scribbled on the side of the two-page manifesto, where he wrote something like ‘praise Allah.’”

Another stand down order from Obama?

Key Clinton emails did not contain highly classified secrets, inquiry finds     ‘The initial determination was based on a flawed process,’ a source says.

From Josh Gerstein dutifully writing at Politio:

The U.S. intelligence community has retreated from claims that two emails in Hillary Clinton’s private account contained top secret information, a source familiar with the situation told POLITICO.

The determination came from Director of National Intelligence James Clapper’s office and concluded that the two emails did not include highly classified intelligence secrets. Concerns about the emails’ classification helped trigger an on-going FBI inquiry into Clinton’s private email set-up.

It’s not just a mistake,” Steven Aftergood of the Federation of American Scientists said of the initial “Top Secret” claim. “It was a transformative event in the presidential campaign to this point. It had a potential to derail Clinton’s presidential candidacy.”

Aftergood said Clapper’s office should be credited for seriously reconsidering the earlier conclusions by intelligence agencies.

“Usually, when an agency commits itself to a judgment that is this consequential, the agency will tend to dig in its heels and insist — no matter what — it was right. What’s unusual here is an agency said we reconsidered and we changed out mind. That’s a difficult thing to do, and they’re liable to be attacked for doing it,” Aftergood said.

What does the “Federation of American Scientists” have to do with this?
Wipe that smirk off your face!
Where would you think Obama gets all his deep scientific analyses on everything from climatology to NCAA tournament “bracketology”?
