If this happens, will pants be more or less likely as the UOD?

  • Left won’t be happy until there is a female lesbian pro-abortion Pope . . .
  • Speaking of powerful women . . .

Maureen Dowd has helpfully spotted one of the two “opportunities” Pope Francis missed on his historic visit to the US and the UN this week. Pope Francis did not end the Catholic Church’s “war on women” seems to be the gist of “Mo’s” complaint on Francis’ incomplete mission. See Francis, the Perfect 19th-Century Pope.

Although Ms. Dowd concedes that His Holiness is a “cool” pope, and the Democratic party is delighted with Francis’ endorsement of most of its agenda and the GOPe must be grateful that he gave cover for them to capitulate to the demands of Obama and the US Chamber of Commerce, the Pontiff failed to reject what Dowd claims is the Church’s “idea” that “women should have no voice in church decisions.”

Pope Francis would be the perfect pontiff — if he lived in the 19thcentury. But how, in 2015, can he continue to condone the idea that women should have no voice in church decisions?

In a scandal that cascaded for decades with abuses and cover-ups, the church was revealed to be monstrously warped in its attitudes about sex and its sense of right and wrong.

Yet shortly after he was elected, Francis flatly rejected the idea that the institution could benefit from opening itself to the hearts and minds of women. Asked about the issue of female priests, he replied, “The church has spoken and says no,” adding, “That door is closed.”

Francis preaches against the elites while keeping the church an elite boys’ club.

Given Pope Francis’ inclination to agree with and promote almost any liberal or left position he comes across, it is a strong possibility he’ll take Ms. Dowd’s admonition to heart…it’s part of his “humble” and “cool” shtick.

As to the other “opportunity” Francis missed, but will probably rectify when he gets back to the Vatican is, of course, a heartfelt call for gun control. (Or maybe he did in his call for arms control and unilateral nuclear disarmament.)

How Obama let Francis get out of town without endorsing that one is probably more indicative of how hectic and distracting the week was. Maybe that’s what Speaker Boehner was crying about.

While he did leave the US without endorsing a Democratic presidential candidate, most will agree that the Pontiff is wise to withhold “anointing” his choice until the Hillary/Bernie cat fight is settled.

Hillary the wannabe

As no one else can so thoroughly do, Clarice presents the Indictment of Hillary Clinton. If you can still vote for Ms. Clinton after reading this, you need to get outfitted for a bathrobe to wander the streets in your neighborhood.
