If there is any semi-thoughtful person who thinks that this country is not now under the rule of a megalomaniacal dictator, they just aren’t paying attention. Congress (Issa) has admitted on television that it is unable to stop Obama’s corruption and lawlessness. He said in so many words that they can cite anybody in the administration, including BO, for contempt of congress or even perjury, but since the DOJ refuses to prosecute (and they have refused to prosecute Eric Holder, Duh), there is nothing more they can do.
Further, even to a “know-nothing” like me, it is clear that BO can take any action, however, illegal or “unconstitutional”, and know that, even if someone can successfully bring legal action (despite the growing corruption of our justice system), it would take years before a final legal judgment could be reached and by then the issue is moot. The only last, best hope to stop this dictatorship before it begins to implement the brutal actions of a full-blown dictatorship is the press…and we know they have been so corrupted that they are actually a supporting actor in this dictatorship!
The 2016 election? A paranoid’s view: Forget it! By then, the reeducation camps will be open for business and Talk Radio and FoxNews will be only a faint memory of the role they once played.
Seriously, if anyone thinks that it can’t happen in this great country, look at events of the past five years and how incredible they would have seemed if they had been laid out as predictions only 5 or 10 years ago. Could Bill Ayres and Bernadine Dorne then be seen as “respected” educators ensconced in prestigious universities? Would we see a president offering admiration for the motivating “principles” of Ho Chi Minh? And a president who admired, praised (until it was not expedient to do so publicly) and listened to a racist preacher invoke “god” to “damn America”?
Would we have foreseen our country $17 trillion in debt? An Attorney who would refuse to prosecute voter intimidation because the perpetrators were of his race? And would an Attorney General who had provenly lied on numerous occasions, under oath, to Congress, and been found in Contempt of Congress, still be in office and actively defying Supreme Court rulings? An Executive branch which routinely defies the courts (as in the Gulf tragedy actions ), the Legislative branch (non-recess recess appointments, immigration law), states’ rights (as though they had none; unable to even have laws supporting federal laws on immigration, or, regarding elections)? Nah! Can’t happen here.
And the problem with Republican leadership today is that too many of these “leaders” down to the county level are content to work to shield and elect Republicans who will do nothing about any of this. Leaders who think it is not there job to even comment in support of the platform to even Republican legislators!
The fact that Holder is still in power is all that you need to know. These Republican clowns still refuse to force him out. Weiner has more thrust in one campaign day than these idiots against Holder in 5 years.
