Biden

smart-man-obama-biden-replace-politics-1338965728Christine O’Donnell was defeated in Delaware’s senatorial election by Chris Coons in 2012   2010. Coons did not win because he was a superb candidate nor because he had tremendous promise as a legislator nor because he had such stellar credentials too impressive to deny his election.

No. Chris Coons won because his opponent, Christine O’Donnell was smeared, demonized, ridiculed relentlessly by the media, the Democrats’ smear machine, and even the GOP “establishment”, in a snit because she had beaten their candidate, with the support of the Tea Party.

What fun the media and ‘Conservative” pundits like Michael Medved  had in ridiculing O”Donnell’s denial, “I am not a witch”.

Just look what awful candidates the Tea Party and right wing fringe nut cases put up, is the charge, in so many words, that Karl Rove, Reince Priebus, George Will, and other reputed Republican/conservative geniuses put forth for Democrat Party strategists to use in elections to come.

Sarah Palin was highly respected with a record of impressive accomplishment and a 60% approval rating in a very short time as Alaskan governor when she was tapped by McCain as his running mate in 2008. In the only debate with Democratic Vice Presidential candidate, Joe Biden,  Palin was most generally regarded as having been the clear winner.

In what must be the most massive, slanderous, underhanded, smear-filled attack on a national candidate by the media, the entertainment industry, and the left wing billionaires’ club, Governor Palin was reduced to a caricature. She was portrayed as a knownothing twit while Joe Biden was treated by all as a kindly little man who, yes, often makes
incredibly stupid comments and takes inexplicable positions on issues, but is “just
Joe being Joe”…whatever that is supposed to mean.

While joining Obama in being elected twice, Biden has emerged as possibly the biggest buffoon ever elevated to high office in this nation’s history. Yet, on political talk shows, hosts routinely toss out derogatory asides about Sarah Palin while their Republican guests sit and nod in apparent agreement. Compare: Sarah Palin has been wrongly quoted, often by Tina Fey, as having claimed that she ‘could see Russia’ from her front porch in Alaska. This has been often cited as a truly hilarious example of why this woman should never be considered for elective office.

Joe Biden, makes statements far more stupid on a daily basis and gets the usual pass. But if there is just one of Biden’s comments permitted to compare to Governor Palin’s, I would choose this one:

At a ceremony for the return of the Navy Seal killed in Benghazi, Tyrone Woods, Vice President Biden approached Woods’ family and asked,  ‘Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?’

I rest my case.        DLH
